This 4-session class is the perfect beginning to your new Cake Decorating eperience. First lesson, your Instructor will teach you how to make Decorationg Icing, color your icing, then prepare and fill your decorating bags. You'll learn a few techniques and use those to decorate the cookies you bring. In the subsequent lessons you will learn to level, torte, fill and frost a cake, learn to decorate cupcakes and several nice borders. Shells, Stars, Ribbon Roses and more. Practice at home between class sessions is vital to mastering the techniques. This class is a prerequisite for most of our classes.

This class is all about piping – a real must for any serious cake decorator and wonderful flowers for those just wanting to provide their family and guests with flowers you can’t get just anywhere. The Classic Rose is accompanied by Rosebuds, Pansies, Violets, Lilies and More We are so excited about the Piped Appliqués you can make for the top and sides of your cakes in beautiful designs; Basket-weave, Rope, and Reverse Shell Borders. All of this in the fun environment of our Cake Art Classroom makes this a class you won’t want to miss! So much to tell you about this class – We’ll start with learning how to handle, store and color fondant and gum paste. Make two different types of bows and learn the basics of the art of Quilling. The gum paste flowers you learn are Roses, Carnations, Mums, Daisies and Calla Lilies and a Leaf to go with them. Layered Ruffle and a Ruffled Swirl will both be great additions to your repertoire. Ultimately you will cover a cake with rolled fondant, learn cool borders as well as overlays and inlays and do some awesome Fondant Painting. Our kit includes 1 lb of Wilton Gum Paste and the 24 OZ box of Wilton Fondant required for this Wilton class.  Prerequisite: Course 1 .

This class is for those who want to make wedding and tiered cakes. The class includes a number of classic wedding piped designs and borders as well as bridal laces, and garlands. In a lecture, the instructor demonstrates how to assemble your cake with structural integrity. We’ll cover the different methods used to make sure your beautiful cake stays upright. Tastings, contracts, delivery, set up will be covered. In the final session, each student will assemble and decorate a 3 tier wedding cake, with hands on experience in doweling and stacking. We’ll take some pictures of you with your beautiful cake before we help you pack it up to take it home. Prerequisite: Completion of Course 1 & 2 NO EXCEPTIONS.


PME Professional Diploma Courses

Cake Art is pleased to announce that we will be offering the PME Professional Diploma Courses.  PME Courses are designed for anyone wanting to excel in the Sugar Arts, whether they are Professional or amateur. Some experience is required in all phases. We request a minimum of Course 1 completed and some hands-on experience with rolled fondant, gum paste. The three modules cover a combination of Basic Techniques and Creative Styling with a Professional Business Approach. Each module consists of 25 classroom hours taught in our classroom at Cake Art. A Diploma Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of each module. A PME Professional Masters Certificate will be awarded when all three modules have been completed. The Three Modules are:

Our 3 hour Advanced Candy class is a fun, hands-on experience. The beautiful confections we make include both traditional and piped truffles and a lovely 3-D chocolate box with painted details. You will learn to duplicate just about any image in chocolate to use for cakes and centerpieces. Cake Art’s 3-D Purse Class - Learn to Make a Beautiful 3-D Purse

Come to our 3-D Purse Class with a ¼ sheet cake and go home with a beautiful purse!  In this 4 hour class we will use Buttercream icing, and Fondant to create a shoulder bag or a 2 handled purse.  You can choose your own style and color palette.  We’ll various embossing mats, clay guns and other sugar craft tools to make purses that will be amazingly real looking.                    No prerequisite but familiarity with cake decorating and rolled fondant would be in your best interest.

Flower Workshop - Learn To Master The Rose!

In our 3.5 hour Shoe Class we will make several styles of shoes.  A stylish woman's pump, small in size but great experience to use for future projects of any size.  Baby's Mary Jane, baby's tennis shoe and classic baby shoe.  The class will include a demo on how to use the techniques you've learned to make a larger lady's shoe over several days time.


Pop Treats Class - One 3 Hour Session 

This 3 hour class will involve demonstration of preparation of cake pops as well as dipping and decorating them. We provide pops, candy and decorations plus sucker sticks, coating and sprinkles for you to take home.

Candy Apple Demo     

$10.00 Tuition No supplies required as this is a demonstration. Register early to reserve your seat in class! 

No Class Scheduled until Summer 2019

Candy Apple Demonstration is one 2.5 hour session, covering many aspects of Candy Apples, including the prepping of your apples, followed by dipping them in multiple mediums - hard candy, candy coating and caramel. The instructor will show you how to achieve different effects such as tranlucent, opaque, metallic and sparkling finishes and adding edible images.  Packaging options are discussed.  We'll close with the sharing of samples and recipes.


-Important Information-

1.) All class fees must be paid in advance to reserve your seat in class.

2.) Students must each have required supplies for class.

3.) Full refund given with 7 day’s notice of cancellation by student, or when Cake Art cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment. No changes or cancellations will be allowed within 7 days of a class. Paid tuition guarantees a seat in the class therefore fees are not refundable due to a student being a “no show”.

4.) No students admitted after 7:15 PM for evening classes to eliminate class disruptions.

5.) If you have dietary restrictions due to allergy or religion or any other special needs, please notify us upon registration so that we can determine if we are able to accommodate you -  for example, in our cupcake use quite a few marshmallows in our decorations.  This become an issue for some students who not eat gelatin.  Weuse peanuts and tree nuts in our candy class.  If you have any special requirements we really need to know in advance.  If possible, we will accommodate you, privided we don't do it at the inconvenience of the other students.

6.) No guests or children permitted in classroom during class sessions.

7.) Supply list given at time of paid registration. Class Supply Kits are distributed on the first day/night of class. Our class kits contain the basic supplies needed for class. Other supplies will be suggested and demonstrated in class. Students will receive a 10% discount on additional supplies they may want to purchase immediately before or after the class each class day. This does not apply to class tuition, required supply kits, and cannot be combined with other sales.

8.) Please turn off your cell phone as a courtesy to other students and to prevent disruptions in the class.

9.) Typically we provide a 30 or 60 minute break in classes lasting more than 3 hours, feel free to bring a lunch, snack and/or drink to enjoy in the classroom during that time.
